Women are 50 % of the world and gave birth to the other half... we are the world

Does anyone know of a saying that I think comes from Muslims (Quaran?), goes something like this, "To kill another is to kill the whole world".
Any info regarding this would be appreciated, such a nice saying!

Yes, it is from Quran. It is an emphasis on how very precious every human life is.

(Verse 32: Almaeda)
(من قتل نفساً بغير نفسٍ أو فسادٍ في الأرض فكأنما قتل الناس جميعاً) (المائدة: 32).

The translation of the full verse says:

'Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allah by committing the major sins) in the land!. Ohhhh THANK YOU Iqbal!
Found it. My Quran has it under Al-Maa idah, Verse 32.
"If anyone slays a human being it shall be as though he had slain all mankind; whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind.

I'm so pleased to discover this did in fact come from the Quran, even if my words weren't exactly right, you recognized it!!!!!
:-)
Powerful and beautiful words. Do you think my original paraphrasing is disrepectful in any way???

Not at all my friend. The message there is clear, God talked to the sons of Israel ... the case still applies right now and forever ....that no one has the right to take the life of an innocent human being.
You must notice something that is of important significant, God says ( a human being) he never said any thing about the faith or background of the individual. It is not only about how precious the life is of a Muslem only, he is talking about all human kind.

Absolutely! That was how I interpreted it. God is not a racist.

This is why we Muslems get angry when a terrorist is called by media ' an Islamist' because he can't be a Muslem, it is against our faith to kill. Any one can grew a beard and call himself a Muslem but he is reaaly not if he kills innocent people. There is a great deal of ignorance about Islam in the media, and it bounces back on innocent good Muslems. A killer is supposed to be called a killer regardless what faith he claims he belongs to. I know also for sure that the real Jews who read the Tura and believe in God would never kill, some politicians use faith and manipulate people to commit atrocities.

I think there is something like that in the Qur'an, but I haven't found it yet. I have been searching at Islamicity using the term "world", but have gotten side-tracked. I will post anything I find.

You can try searching at http://www.islamicity.com/QuranSearch/
