Coming from a multicultural background, I know that different cultures, faiths, races can live side by side peacefully.
The conflict in the world is not to do with religion or race. Rather it is that ruling elites are prepared to go to any lengths to control the world's resources. And elites will form allegiances with other elites on the basis of might, not culture, not religion.
It took a long time for my eyes to be opened, but now that I see this, my guiding principle is something Martin Luther King said in what was to be his final speech:
"The first question that the priest asked -- the first question that the Levite asked was, "If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?" But then the Good Samaritan came by. And he reversed the question: "If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?"
