I actually live in Le Marche, on the sea, but the land is about 40 Km inland. It is beautiful and I love doing all the stuff there is to do, and there is always a lot to do! That's funny that you were thinking of the same quote!
Interesting your comments on growing up with the music. I always had music be a big part of my life, but recently, have not even had time to hear much. I own no ipods or anything, and i like to keep my ears free to hear the sounds.
About Gilad, well... he is capable at times of spreading a little "stardust" around, and can be charming, if he feels like it, but he is like anyone else, actually. I used to really be almost in awe of him, and have had fruitful discussions that i gained a lot out of, but now, i see him how he is, full of contradictions and quite normal and far too argumentative for my current mood! In the summer, I get very mellow. Working with him can actually be demanding. I spend much more time on his work than my own! He does get involved in his own ideas and at that moment, all other ideas are "wrong"... it can be a bit draining to be at the receiving end. But I think in small doses he's just great.
And, he does play really well!
(my daughter has your same name, and when she was little, couldn't say it, she called herself Mimmimamma instead of Miriam!)

- Hi again dear Mimi! I got (a lot) busy but wanted to touch base for a moment to thank you for your lovely note! One of my sisters lives in Arizona, and always wonders at how people want to make it look like Wisconsin or something, with all that grass that shouldn't be there and wastes a lot of water to do so. I love the desert and its vegetation, but nothing can compare to an Italian vegetable garden, I think! I wish you could taste some of those 'maters with me. They are really fine! It is funny how exciting it is to make something grow, and this is why it is so understandable how people can be devasted in Palestine when their trees are uprooted and planted for Israelis somewhere.
I remember when we bought the farm (I wasn't so sure about it...) and Iqbal said what the words of the Mohammed were, if you have one day of life to live and a tree sapling, plant it. I want to find that exact quote and make a nice plaque of it for the shed that's slowly turning into a house of sorts (not to live in maybe for another 15 years, that's how long it will take to afford to make it liveable).
Gilad told me he met you in America. I think American shocked him (in a good way) although i was not too impressed with is Obama paper at all...
Well, better get back to my translation job on Legionnaire's Disease Risk Potential in a building. what fun!

Welcome here and I know you will feel right at home, and that today this site has gained a precious new member. (btw, my sister is a librarian, and in all modesty --- I am something of an organic gardener! (well, my husband bought a run down farm for what would cost a garage here in the city, and with NO knowledge of what to do, (he tries to explain and give tips) I just look at the seed packages, or download an article, and do my best for the day. So far, tomatoes that are so sweet they make me cry, zucchini that are long as your arm (my husband says they are not good when that big, but I tend to miss finding them until they get big!) and in the winter we will have potatoes by the hundreds! I love the earth, and never learned it until now!
