Salaam. I hope you and yours are well and will continue to be. Great creativity and art! A little more about me, I'm 49, diffabled, a mental health counseling supervisor, by profession, into poetic revelation and workshop as individual and group therapeutic milieu. Being a member in, and involved with A.A.P., I.A.W.A., A.P.R., Teacher's and Writer's Collaborative, I.W.W.G., Univ. of the Sts., Quest, Lummox, Nomad's Choir, Poet's House, St. Mark's Poetry Project, Bridge-In-Making, Beans About It, Medicinal Purposes, P.E.N. Friend, et al, has inspired; as has featuring on my multi-art show, "Matutinally Watered Poetree" on Manh. cable, and other t.v. and radio shows, events! I've been a co-editor, assistant editor, written columns, etc.; and have had over 1400 works published in the last 12 years, alone. As well, currently a regional editor for Poet To Poet; out of N.Y.C.. "Painting is poetry which is seen and not heard, and poetry is a painting which is heard but not seen." ~ Leonardo da Vinci. It's also important to keep in mind that no one could do what they do without those that inspire us like you. As you know, all we can do is provide a wisp, gleam, glimmer, gleaning of what was, is, and could be, a candle's light within us that resonates with another's; our self-actuation allowing another's- a note in a wondrous universal symphony, cacophony, to which we all are invited to play, sing, dance. Help Mr. Leonard Peltier get the parole he, and humanity, truly deserves, advocate and evoke :)
Leonard has carried a constant burden for all of humanity, for over 34 years straight, graciously, courageously, and with great generosity, and, besides thanking him, we have a responsibility to act, not just to right the wrongs of this world, to act to lessen Leonard's, and those like Leonard's, burdens; they've humbly born for us all. Luckily, "we, the people...", can still be the voice for those unheard; let us do what we can do to support Leonard's parole. Thanx, again. Ciao. :)

I received a disturbing call from Leonard today. As we know,
Leonard has had a scare with prostate cancer. He is now having
blood in his urine and he desperately needs to have an oncologist
examine him. A general practitioner operating in the prison system
is not sufficient; he needs to be seen by a specialist.
Your support with letters and phone calls to the proper officials is
greatly needed at this time. The urgency is due to his previous
scare of cancer. Only a specialist can determine the state of
his health. According to his medical he is supposed to receive
an exam every three months, but according to Leonard he has only
been seen once a year. How can this be? As everyone knows one
examination can give you warning, anyone who has had a prognosis
or scare with prostate cancer, you need to see an oncologist and
be examined regularly.
He has never received proper medical attentions for his medical
problems, unless this problem is addressed by his supporters he
will not get this matter taken care of. As we found when he did not
have his diabetic supplies last year, until the outcry was so great.
Then they could not deny him.
Please ask the warden at Lewisburg Prison to give Leonard Peltier
the proper medical attention he has the right to.
