Women are 50 % of the world and gave birth to the other half... we are the world

A Childs Voice...

Sometimes I get so frustrated coz I want to do so much more, I want to DO so much..but cant-given geographical location n finances...so I do what I can, and make plans for hopefully going to Gaza/Palestine within year...inshallah...
One thing I overlooked however-was the effect of teaching my children and taking them to protests, writing letters etc...
It dawned on me the other day when Angel-who constantly talks about Palestine -Gaza and wants to wear kuffiyeh to school to show her love n support-asked me if we could help the children in Gaza who were sick or had no parents..she was on the PC, googling Palestine and came across a site where you could "adopt" a Palestinian child with monthly donations--she wanted to "adopt" a brother or sister with her allowance...
i sat and listened to her, and thought,---these are the seeds we are sowing--our children...a generation of lovers, not haters or fighters, but children genuinely concerned and feeling the hurt of others and wanting to help and be involved...
As I look at her room and our apt filled with drawings, paintings, she has done about Palestine, the books she gets from the school library on Palestine-I think-this is an 8 year old child...
wow
she is more conscious than most of our leaders...
and i think, maybe this is a part of change-our children, our future-who will not tolerate such things now-or when they grow up...they will have heart and love-and perhaps with enough of our children in a new generation of leaders...this tragic dire genocide-will not happen again....inshallah...

The children appear traumatized. The teachers say that when they hear a loud noise they look to the sky and cry out and weep. They don’t know what the future holds. They deserve better.
Mia Farrow, after visiting Gaza as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.
