About Me:
Founder, Chief Executive, Eyes Wide Open International.

Interests:
I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to do a diverse multitude of things in my life and some of my happiest years were my poorest years financially. It doesn't take much 'money' to be happy and content. I'm a life long musician, play 7 instruments, [half/ass] Orchestrator of 9 instruments, music teacher, writer, singer, composer and artistic expressionist. Founder of 2 International Organizations and 1 National Organization in the search for progress and development in the human fields. Learning freak and avid reader/writer. Semi-retired and looking forward to doing things with a like minded companion. Open minded, compassionate, moral, passionate advocate/activist for "all" life on planet earth. Love BBQs, pool parties with friends and family. Boating, skiing, trips both local and abroad. Love the smell of a campfire but hate setting up tents...etc. Not into "roughing" it anymore but don't mind camper/trailer type camping and seeing the nature I love. 35 years in Human Behavior [Psychology] bio-chemistry, Brain. Humanitarian, egalitarian, Liberal...and proud of it!! Looking for unconditional friends.

Music:
Music? I'm very open-minded and love all types of music. I think there were two great decades of "popular" music in the US, the 60s and 70s and todays music is good, but has yet to hit the high marks of years past...but its improving! I'm a lifelong musician and played with some very big bands in the late 60s [as a teenager...ha!] and early 70s publishing for Capitol Records as a studio musician. I play 7 instruments [half/ass] and orchestrate for 9. I still Jam every every week with friends, play nearly every day and teach guitar...mostly. I'm a Rock-N-Roller but after 40 years of playing music of various types, you can play almost anything if given the time to learn it. I said "almost anything"! Music....my lifelong passion!! I also had hair to my waist for over 34 years. Stubborn non-conformist.....geeeeez!!

FAMOUS QUOTE: "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar." –Julius Caesar

Pentagon Manual: OK to Destroy Gitmo Interrogation Notes

Corruption rains at every level!! Did anyone know that Khadr was "15" years old? A child!! At Gitmo, destroying evidence is standard operating procedure. The Guantanamo "war crimes" trials took another shameful turn yesterday when the Navy lawyer representing Canadian-born Omar Khadr revealed that a 2003 Pentagon manual encouraged interrogators to destroy their hand written notes made at the time of the interrogations. Only last week the military judge assigned to preside over Khadr's trial wa… Continue

The Courage of Rachel Corrie

Reviewed: Let Me Stand Alone: The Journals of Rachel Corrie by Rachel Corrie (W.W. Norton, 2008) By all rights, Let Me Stand Alone should not be an easy book to read. Doom hangs over this collection of the journal writings of Rachel Corrie, who was a 23-year-old American peace activist when she was crushed to death by an Israel Defense Forces bulldozer in Gaza five years ago. And yet most of this book whizzes by in a series of delights: in descriptions of autumn football games in Washington sta… Continue

How Cell Phones Have Fueled a Frenzy of "Honor" Killings in Iraq

The position of women in Iraqi society has deteriorated dramatically since the start of the occupation -- and the daily results are deadly. A dark pool of dried blood and a fallen red scarf mark the place where Ronak, who had fled to a woman's shelter in the Kurdish city of Sulaymaniyah when she was accused of adultery by her husband, was shot three times by a man hiding on the roof of a nearby building. Ronak was wounded by bullets in the neck, side and leg and only survived after a four-hour… Continue

Israel Must Be Held To Same Nuclear Scrutiny as Iran

Israel Must Be Held To Same Nuclear Scrutiny as Iran By JOE PARKO 18/05/08 "The Tennessean" -- - First, we went after nonexistent nuclear weapons in Iraq, and now we are consumed with the possibility that Iran might develop nuclear weapons sometime in the future. Hillary Clinton has declared that she would obliterate Iran if it ever attacked Israel with a nuclear weapon. But what nobody wants to talk about is the fact that Israel has had a secret nuclear weapons program for more than 30 years… Continue

US Government "censored" film. PLEASE WATCH "NOW"!!

The most propagandized country on earth, the US Sixty years of massive, ongoing, coldly calculated human rights abuses against the Palestinian people. That's the legacy of the State of Israel. Americans pay the bills for this tyranny and our hopelessly corrupt news media and elected officials go along with it because it's politically expedient. Note: The videos of IfAmericansKnew.org are constantly removed by YouTube censors. I have no idea how long this one will be up. This video has been… Continue

A Strangled People

The bold claims about Middle East peace from London ring hollow in the empty streets of Gaza By Sami Abdel-Shafi in Gaza City 03/05/08 "The Guardian" -- - It is a strange feeling: after working as a productive professional in Gaza for five years, I have become a black market junkie. I make several phone calls a day hunting for fuel for my car, diesel for the electricity generator waiting on standby to power the house, even cigarettes and vitamins. The only way to get hold of these things, to b… Continue

The blockade of Gaza by Israel and the continued closure of the area have made life for ordinary citizens very difficult. Bombing raids have put everyone at risk and contributed to psychological wounds as well as physical ones. We urge both sides to stop attacks and move t… Continue

A human rights crime in Gaza =By Jimmy Carter=

A human rights crime in Gaza By Jimmy Carter First Published: May 6, 2008 The world is witnessing a terrible human rights crime in Gaza, where a million and a half human beings are being imprisoned with almost no access to the outside world by sea, air, or land. An entire population is being brutally punished. This gross mistreatment of the Palestinians in Gaza was escalated dramatically by Israel, with United States backing, after political candidates representing Hamas won a majority of se… Continue

Our letter of thanks to Rep. Kucinich reads in part, "Thank you for your profound commitment to human rights, for your recognition of the historical injustices that Israel has inflicted and continues to inflict on the Palestinian people, for your awareness that U.S. policy toward Israelis and Palestinians must promote "peace with justice", and for your willingness to speak the truth when many of your colleagues in Congress would prefer to sweep it under the rug." Hi Eyes Wide Open,
I have enjoyed your contributions and your page. It is obvious you have put some time and effort into your page. But what is real funny is that after reading a blog on another site I felt the need to come onto Palestinian Mothers and look at your page. Why, you may ask yourself. Well because the blog was left by a person with the user name Dant, but at the very bottle of this comment (which happened to be about the palestinian/israeli conflict) were the worlds Eyes, WIDE OPEN! It may not have been left by you. Nonetheless, it was what brought me here. I wish more people would open their eyes. Anyway, I'm glad that the blog brought me to your page. You seem like a person worthy of knowing. Thank you for all your insight and knowledge. If only knowledge were contagious and it could awaken humanity from the comatose state in which they are all living in. It is all this misinformation and the unwillingness of people to search for truths that make man dead while still technically being alive.
